Steve Millhouse - Bass

Steve Millhouse is an electric/double bassist currently playing for the Broadway Show Godspell in New York City. He also plays for the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular. Steve has played for many other Broadway productions; Grammy nominated recordings; national TV jingles; concerts with film, TV and movie stars; and with Japanese pop star Oe Senri. Since 2009 he has been touring the world with international star Ute Lemper. He also plays in various jazz, rock and singer/songwriter clubs around New York City. In addition, he is involved in some of his own more bass-centered projects featuring his unique chordal-style of playing on 5 and 6-string electric bass.

Jonathan Smith - Musical Director/Piano

Originally from Auburn, Alabama, Jon played his jazz gig with the Auburn Knights Orchestra, America's oldest college dance band, at 15. He went to college in New Orleans, studying with legendary jazz patriarch Ellis Marsalis, playing in jazz and funk clubs, parades, at the World's Fair, with Elvis impersonators, even performing with Neil Diamond. After moving to New York and earning his Masters in Jazz Studies at the Manhattan School of Music he helped create the Tony and Grammy nominated dance revue Swing!  Regional and off-Broadway credits include Sweeney Todd, Strike Up The Band, Douglas Cohen's The Gig, and 6 original scores for The Actors' Company Theatre. On Broadway he's played or conducted Swing!, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Imaginary Friends, and Jersey Boys, where he is currently Associate Musical Supervisor.  He's thrilled to help tell the story of Central Avenue Breakdown.  Art is the soul of a nation, and can never be out-sourced.  Thanks to Sheila, Ian and Emmet for the freedom to create!

Wayne Tucker - Trumpet

The Syracuse Jazz Fest, Jazz in the Square, Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola, Avery Fisher Hall, Birdland, The Ravinia Festival, The Kennedy Center, Smalls Jazz Club, Smoke, The Zinc Bar, The Iridium, City Winery, LePoisson Rouge. Played with Elvis Costello, Winard Harper, DelfayoMarsalis, Lew Soloff, Bob Mintzer. Participant in the 2009 & 2011 Betty Carter Jazz Ahead Program, 2009 & 2011 National Trumpet Competition, 2009 Stearns Institute, 2005 New York All-State.

Greg Ward - Alto Sax

Greg Ward (born 1982) is rapidly emerging as one of the leading virtuoso saxophone players of his generation, with a unique versatility in a wide variety of styles of music. Ward grew up in a musical household, singing in gospel groups as a child before the discovery of Charlie Parker led him to dedicate his life to the saxophone. Honors quickly followed, including the Downbeat Magazine High School Jazz Soloist Award (2000) and participation in the exclusive Steans Music Institute (2001).  Ward currently leads two ensembles. Fitted Shards, a quartet that incorporates elements from many different musical genres, including avante-garde jazz, rock, and contemporary classical, and Phonic Juggernaut, a trio that pushes the limits of modern jazz. Both ensembles have released a recording to much critical acclaim, South Side Story (2010) and Phonic Juggernaut(2011).
